Sharon Audubon Center consists of the main center sanctuary and Emily Winthrop Miles Wildlife Sanctuary in Sharon, Connecticut. We have been connecting people with nature since its founding in 1961. The center features 1,147 acres, primarily made up of woodland habitat, and includes 11 miles of trails and two ponds. The main building houses a small hands-on natural history museum, the Audubon Nature Store, and the children's Adventure Center. The immediate grounds include Raptor Aviaries with live birds of prey, the Pollinator Garden (maintained by the Millbrook Garden Club), and a working sugarhouse (formerly an ice house).
Our center functions as a community nature center, where the majority of the programs and events take place. Sharon Audubon Center runs a Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic for injured and orphaned wildlife, and naturalists are on duty to answer questions and interface with the public.
