Join us in a tradition that spans over 120 years! Counting birds isn't just helpful to the scientific community, but can be fun, too. Sharon Audubon Center staff and volunteers split up into teams to cover a 15 mile radius around The Hotchkiss School, counting as many birds as they can. At the end of the day, teams convene at the Sharon Audubon Center to report on their sightings and share stories from the day's adventure over dinner and hot beverages. Bring your favorite snacks, beverages, and warm clothing for a super fun day of birding!
This event is FREE!
***NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. You don't have to be a seasoned birder (or even a birder at all) to join in. Also, participants won't likely be out for 12 hours. Time on the route depends on the route leader, with meal breaks taken and sometimes a break in the slow hours of the afternoon. Come for just the morning segment or join us for the whole day!
