Pond Design Workshop

June 26, 2021 - Greenwich, CT

Register

Join the Greenwich Audubon Center for a workshop to get you started with designing and building a small, backyard pond for your garden. This workshop will be led by biologist James Carr, who has taught at the New York Botanical Garden for more than 20 years.

Ponds are tremendously beneficial, providing critical hydration to your plants and vital habitat for wildlife that support the health of your garden. This Pond Design Workshop will help you learn techniques for designing your very own pond, and will include a lecture, interactive discussions, and hands-on training outside.

This workshop will take place mostly outside in a small group setting on the Audubon grounds. Once you register, we will reach out to you with more information about the program. If you are unable to make it to this program, the instructor is also available for private sessions. If you are interested in this option, please reach out to us for private session rates. All levels of awareness and experience are welcome. Capacity is limited, so we encourage you to register early.

  • Program Fee: $45 per person
  • Pre-registration is required
  • Recommended for adults and children over 12 who are comfortable with the lecture component

Greenwich Audubon Center is a vibrant nature education center located at the main 285-acre Audubon sanctuary in Greenwich. We are a part of the Audubon Connecticut state office of the National Audubon Society and Atlantic Flyway, and steward a total of seven sanctuaries in the Greenwich area. Our mission is to protect birds and the places they need, today and tomorrow. Visitors are welcome to enjoy our miles of trails, nature programs, education resources, conservation-themed events, and nature store throughout the year.

We support a diverse and inclusive environment, and welcome individuals of all races, physical and mental abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, ethnicities, and perspectives. We work with families to modify programs for accessibility where possible.
