Hawk Watch Season Kickoff
Sunday, August 28, 2016
11:00am - 1:00pm
Location Details
Audubon Center in Greenwich
613 Riversville Road, Greenwich, 06831

Did you know that an average of 20,000 hawks, eagles, falcons, and vultures migrate over the Audubon Greenwich Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch every fall? Come join our hawk-counter Ryan MacLean as we kick off another hawk-watching season. Learn how we identify and tally raptors at Audubon Greenwich and other hawk watches across the country.
We will begin with a presentation in Kiernan Hall at our Kimberlin Nature Education Center building, followed by a short walk to the Hawk Watch lawn where you'll learn how to use binoculars and, with some luck, hopefully see a few raptors up close. Bring your own binoculars or borrow one of our loaner pairs. Picnic refreshments will be served on the lawn afterward. Recommended for ages 8 and up. $5 per person. Please RSVP to Gigi Lombardi at glombardi@audubon.org or 203-930-1351.
