Did you know that an average of 20,000 hawks, eagles, falcons, and vultures migrate over the Audubon Greenwich Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch every fall? Come join our hawk-counter Ryan MacLean as we kick off another hawk-watching season. Learn how we identify and tally raptors at Audubon Greenwich and other hawk watches across the country.
We will begin with a presentation in Kiernan Hall at our Kimberlin Nature Education Center building, followed by a short walk to the Hawk Watch lawn where you'll learn how to use binoculars and, with some luck, hopefully see a few raptors up close. Bring your own binoculars or borrow one of our loaner pairs. Picnic refreshments will be served on the lawn afterward. Recommended for ages 8 and up. $5 per person. Please RSVP to Gigi Lombardi at firstname.lastname@example.org or 203-930-1351.
