Say Yes to Open Space

On Monday, February 26, 2018, the Planning and Development Committee of the Connecticut General Assembly raised and held a public hearing on S.B. 181, An Act Establishing A Pilot Program for the Preservation of Open Space. If enacted, this legislation would allow (but not require) certain towns and cities to establish a dedicated fund to acquire, preserve, and steward open space and farmland at the municipal level by including a conveyance fee of up to 1% paid by buyers of real property.

Help us preserve the character of our towns and protect bird and wildlife habitat. Reach out to your state legislators and the Planning and Development Committee in support of S.B. 181. Once open space is gone, it is gone forever.
