Join Us for an Orientation for Bird Monitoring at Urban Oases Sites

If you have an interest in birds and about creating bird habitats, join Audubon Connecticut on March 30, 2016 from 6:30 - 8 p.m.

Enjoy watching birds? Want to learn about creating bird habitat in your own backyard? Consider helping with bird monitoring at New Haven area Urban Oases. Join Audubon Connecticut for an orientation at the Peabody Museum in New Haven.

When: March 30, 2016 from 6:30 - 8 p.m.

Where: Room 110 of the Class of 1954 Environmental Science Center. This is the building directly behind the Peabody Museum at 21 Sachem Street, New Haven, Connecticut.

More Info: As part of the New Haven Harbor Urban Refuge Partnership, habitat improvements are taking place at New Haven parks, schools, and other urban green spaces that will benefit both birds and people. Native trees, shrubs, and flowers have been planted to provide cover, food, and habitat for wildlife and a place to learn, relax, and connect with nature for people. Audubon Connecticut has been working with Common Ground High School and the USFWS to monitor insect diversity at these Urban Oases to determine whether habitat restoration is working. We are looking for help in monitoring birds at these sites.  Volunteers can monitor at just one or many sites and make as many visits as time permits.

RSVP to Corrie at cfolsom-okeefe@audubon.org. Coffee and snacks will be provided.
